This particular sound card works well in “somewhat older” PCs. For those of you who are into keeping old equipment running like new, this card serves a great Legacy M-Audio product for your older PC studio. Ma config was lighter than now. No doubt that the components are not worth those of a pro config, but honestly the sound is really excellent. I highly recommend this card for all types of use, for beginners as well as experts in all situations. This is a very old sound card that I bought new a long time ago 10 years?

To use VSTI without much latency. Had me a little confused on some things inside the configuration of it, but we figured 2469 out, found out what everything soudn and went from there. Not much to say after that. Jet fighter talk but, seriously – open your machine – pop it in – load the drivers disk and get on with your music.
I use this card for music production and a little armature vocal recording thought I was a vocalist at the time.

Get this and reaper. Very handy for software that does not function Export audio. This particular sound card works well in “somewhat older” PCs.
Windows 7 64bit takes a lot longer to boot when the is in the PCI slot. Works great with my DAW. I use only the direct monitoring never by cubase cad my POD multi-effect that is both guitar bassacoustic or voice.
Only drawback, no headphone jack. The sound is not as flattering as other brands I have tried, but it is not necessarily a fault. This is the MIDI that is more difficult when I use a virtual instrument with my keyboard, I have to lower the latency as much as possible and disable the master effects, but it is not a problem unique to this card, all audio systems work like this.
Rather than taking a big sound card, I decided to invest in the rest of my studio PC overkill, guitars and basses horny sound and touch, microphone choices relatively large, multi-effect pedal for extension of inputs for the map. It uses a PCI interface. I don’t remember exactly how crd latency I encountered with this card I do remember that whatever latency i did experience wasn’t cqrd to hurt my music creating experience especially with the use of ASIO4ALL.
My intergrated sound card wound up burnning out when hooked up to my older sound system. The drivers are updated but the manual has not been.

But card is powerful enough that I can hook up headphones to the standard speaker output. Would have been nice to have had Wave Table Synthesis too but, hey this card is already out of the park without it.
